Before your hair procedure
No. You must avoid all alcoholic beverages and products for at least seven (7) days before the procedure.
Turkey has many clinics, especially in Istanbul, that are well-known for hair transplants. To find the best one for you, research carefully. Look into the level of care provided, whether the procedure takes place in a certified hospital or clinic, the cleanliness and safety standards, and the qualifications and experience of the medical team. It’s also a good idea to read reviews from past patients to see how satisfied they were with their results.
You don’t need to bring anyone with you, since the hair transplant is done under local anesthesia. However, one adult companion can stay with you at the hotel in Istanbul at no extra cost. Please note: if you bring more than one adult or more than one child, the hotel may charge an additional 20 Euros per night per person.
Turkey is now one of the top destinations in the world for hair transplants. It offers a wide selection of clinics, highly experienced specialists, and high-quality care at very affordable prices.
Because hair transplant surgery is considered a cosmetic procedure, most insurance plans do not cover its cost.
Please don’t shave your hair before the procedure—we need to see your natural hair density and growth direction. In most cases, only the donor area will be shaved. However, shaving your entire head is recommended, as it allows our medical team to work more precisely, ensures better hygiene, and helps reduce side effects such as itching after the operation.
Payment is made on the day of your hair transplant in Istanbul. The exact payment process may vary depending on the clinic, and we’ll provide you with specific instructions in advance. Most clinics accept both cash and credit card. If you plan to pay by card, please make sure your phone is active in Turkey and roaming is enabled, as your bank may send an SMS verification to complete the payment.
After your evaluation, if you qualify for a hair transplant, we’ll schedule a date based on both your availability and the clinic’s doctors. Once the date and time are confirmed, you can book your flight to Istanbul. For more details or to secure your appointment, please contact us directly.
After your hair procedure
You should avoid any headgear for the first two weeks. After that, you’re free to wear a helmet, cap, hat, or any other type of head covering.
You should avoid swimming in pools, the sea, or any other water for at least one month after your transplant.
You should avoid strenuous physical activity for at least one month after your hair transplant. Light workouts at the gym may be possible after two weeks, as long as they are not intense and do not put pressure on your scalp.
It’s very important to avoid any activity where your hands or equipment could touch your head, or where elevated blood pressure could stress the newly transplanted grafts. Activities like yoga, boxing, or other high-impact sports should be avoided during the first month.
If you’re a professional athlete or need to resume physical activity for work, you may gradually return after two weeks with extreme caution, ensuring no contact or strain on your scalp.
Please contact us if you have any questions about specific exercises or activities.
It’s best to wait at least one month before getting a haircut, and always inform your barber that you’ve recently had a hair transplant. For the first six months, only scissors should be used on the transplanted area—avoid clippers, electric shavers, or razors. After six months, all tools can be used safely.
No. The hair follicles removed from the donor area are completely extracted, so they do not grow back. The transplanted grafts are permanently moved to the recipient area.
Use a pH-neutral or chemical-free shampoo for the first six months after your transplant. Organic shampoos are also safe to use.
The transplanted area typically heals within 10–14 days. By the end of this period, red spots, scabs, and dead skin should be gone.
It’s not recommended to shave or cut the hair very short in the donor area after a transplant. Doing so can interfere with regrowth and make the reduced hair density more noticeable. We advise keeping the hair at least 1 cm long in the donor area to maintain a natural appearance.
Yes, itching is a common side effect after the procedure. Following our recommended hair-washing routine usually helps reduce it. Some skin types may be more sensitive, and in rare cases, we may suggest using lotions or creams. Please contact us if the itching persists or becomes severe.
For the first two weeks, we recommend washing your hair once a day to keep the scalp clean and support healing.
Pimples are an uncommon side effect but can occasionally appear after the procedure.
Avoid sexual activity for the first two days after your transplant, as increased blood flow and pressure can affect the grafts. From day 3 to day 10, you may resume sexual activity with caution: avoid lying face down, ensure your partner does not touch the transplanted area, and minimize physical exertion. After two weeks, you can resume normal activity without restrictions.
